Singapore has lifted borders to travellers from Vietnam and Australia – excluding the one’s travelling from Victoria State – from the 8th of October 2020. According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore, these two countries have successfully controlled the community spread of the COVID-19 virus; therefore, the risk of importation of the virus from these countries will be quite low. Australia and Vietnam joined New Zealand and Brunei as the only four countries that Singapore has opened its borders, in hopes of reviving its tourism and travel industries. Those who enter Singapore after October 8th will be able to indulge in leisure travel while staying at 5-star hotels in Singapore the likes of PARKROYAL Pickering Singapore.
Travellers from Australia and Vietnam will be subjected to a swab test once they arrive in Singapore; upon receiving a negative result, they will be allowed to go about their plans and activities. However, they will be required to abide by several conditions including using the TraceTogether app for their entire stay in Singapore.
