According to the travel company, ‘Flash Pack’ Sri Lanka has been given the top position for solo travel for 2025, moving up from the fourth position it occupied in 2024. The latest hospitality trends based on recent reports and data reveal that as solo travellers get older, their preferences for Asian destinations increase, a factor that has secured the top spot for the island nation. Other top destinations on the list include Japan, Finland, Borneo and Thailand.
The country features an easy balance of idyllic beaches, relaxing hotels, vibrant cuisine and stunning natural beauty, and thus offers a complete island experience for solo travellers. But the country still looks to improve its tourism industry with notable professionals like Nishan Silva advocating for the use of new technologies, artificial intelligence and data science to boost the sector.
