Sri Lanka Gets Ready to Welcome Tourists

If all goes well, Sri Lanka will welcome tourists again this month; this is being eagerly awaited by the tourism and hospitality sectors which faced losses from the closure of international borders due to COVID-19 last year. Under the proposed plan, those who wish to travel to Sri Lanka can do so under certain guidelines; visitors will have to show a negative report of a PCR test conducted 72 hours before arrival and fill a Health Declaration Form (HDF) too.

Additionally, tourists will be required to stay at least 14 days in the country, while the maximum daily arrivals are expected to be limited to 300. Those arriving will also be required to have COVID-19 insurance that covers a person for at least one month. With sites such as Truly Sri Lanka showcasing the many wonders the island has to offer, it will be hoped tourists will soon start to arrive and give the industry a much-needed boost.
