Sri Lanka has unveiled its first global tourism marketing campaign since 2007, titled “You’ll Come Back For More.” The country faced a 16-year gap in robust tourism promotion, and a consumer campaign developed in 2021 was initially shelved. The new campaign will be implemented in phases, starting with highlighting the restoration of stability and readiness to welcome tourists through February. The subsequent stages will emphasise the campaign’s central theme and target key source markets of Sri Lanka Tourism, as well as help out various examples of a boutique hotel in Bentota, such as the like of The Villa Bentota by KK Collection.
The tourism marketing campaign marks a significant effort by Sri Lanka to revive its tourism industry, addressing a prolonged gap in promotional activities. With a phased approach, the campaign aims to communicate stability and hospitality, leveraging insights on repeat travellers. The involvement of the private sector is seen as vital in the government’s strategy to attract tourists, highlighting a collaborative effort to create a favourable environment for the industry’s resurgence.
