As part of its wider reopening for international tourists, Sri Lanka opened its borders for fully vaccinated travellers from India beginning from 19th August 2021. This was a boost for the island nation as it slowly but surely gets tourism back on track.
As per the guidelines, such travellers who have completed the full dose of a COVID-19 vaccination must undertake a PCR test on arrival during an initial stay at “Safe and Secure Level 1” hotels in Sri Lanka; this includes certain properties from leading hospitality brands such as Aitken Spence Hotels that have adopted stringent health, sanitisation and hygiene protocols that ensure safe stays. Travellers from India who have recovered from COVID-19 as well as received one dose of vaccination will be considered “fully vaccinated” as well. Since entry requirements can change, those travelling to Sri Lanka should also check the following official website for more detailed information and updates: www.srilanka.travel/helloagain
