Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau participated in the International Mediterranean Tourism Market 2018 which was held from 6th to 7th of February 2018 at the Tel Aviv Convention Centre in Tel Aviv, Israel. This annual tourism fair was organised to create awareness on domestic and foreign tourism, and strengthen cooperation among international tourism bodies. Many visitors were attracted to Sri Lankan products and services, ranging from wildlife safaris to heritage sites and cuisine.
Among many leading tour companies that were represented in the trade fair, beachside escapes like Heritance Ahungalla, one of the best Aitken Spence hotels in Ahungalla inspired the visitors to witness this beautiful island paradise. In 2018, Sri Lanka expects to lure 15,000 Israeli tourists to make the country a premier destination attraction. Identifying the Middle East as a significant source market will give positive results for the Sri Lankan tourism industry in future.
