Sri Lanka Rolled-out Tourist Campaign: Pushing For Return Visits

Sri Lanka’s tourism sector geared up for a resurgence with an ambitious campaign bearing the slogan ‘You’ll come back for more.’ This campaign targeted both first-time visitors and repeat tourists, with a focus on several key global markets, including the UK, Germany, France, India, China, Australia, Russia, the Middle East, and Scandinavia.

A significant aspect of this initiative was engaging Sri Lanka’s diaspora worldwide, encouraging them to reconnect with their homeland and explore it with friends and family. The fact that about 30 per cent of travellers were repeat visitors from India and Europe highlighted the appeal and charm that Sri Lanka held. The campaign was planned in two phases: the first debuted in four key markets in 2023, including India, China, Russia, and Australia. Following this, an extensive long-term campaign targeting 14 key markets starting in January 2024 will propel visitors to the western coasts of the country. Sought-after properties include a beautiful boutique hotel in Galle such as KK Beach Galle and other incredible accommodation spots.
