Sri Lanka should be ready for 1.3Mn tourists by end of this year

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has stated that obstacles to tourism should be removed, and global promotional plans implemented to boost the sector this year. He also mentioned that the island could turn out to be an Asian hotspot soon. Sri Lanka saw the arrival of more than 260,000 in the first four months of the year which is much higher than the total number of arrivals last year.

The government has set the bar high; Sri Lanka aims to achieve 1.3 million tourist arrivals within this year. This was stated by the president during his visit to the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority. Earl’s Regency Kandy which is a popular Kandy hotel in Sri Lanka along with other accommodation options is preparing to help achieve this goal.
