The Sri Lanka Tourism Board recently renewed its partnership with Emirates with the intention of further improving the island’s tourism industry. As the largest international airline in the world, Emirates continues to play a vital role in promoting Sri Lanka’s offerings to global audiences, drawing on its extensive network of aircraft that span across six continents.
The partnership, which first began in 2022, was formalised once more through a Memorandum of Understanding between both parties, and hopes to build on the success achieved in the past few years. Last year alone, Sri Lanka recorded a steady number of international arrivals – over 2.3 million – which reached a 15.1% increase of annual growth rate from the previous year.
As the Emirates continues to bring a diverse group of visitors to the island nation, hospitality brands and top hotels in Colombo can also look forward to a steady influx of tourism revenue generated through visitor spending. And with top hotels like Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo providing a cosy launchpad into the island’s commercial capital, visitors can look forward to a getaway that’s equal parts relaxing and adventurous.
