On November 22nd, 2017 a most remarkable dinner took place at the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Oslo. A whole range of individuals from entities relating to the tourism industry was invited, encompassing travel writers and journalists, travel agents and operators, and representatives linked to prominent airlines with routes to Sri Lanka. The dinner consisted of a traditional Sri Lankan feast, featuring a range of items typically consumed in local households such as rice and various curries.
Sri Lanka’s tourism industry has been booming ever since the end of a long civil war. As a result, there have been numerous hotels and resorts built in recent time such as Weligama Bay Marriott Resort & Spa one of the many choices among Weligama hotel accommodations. The Sri Lankan Ambassador to Oslo, Jayantha Palipane, spoke about the importance of tourism development and emphasised many attractions the island has to offer.
