Sri Lanka Tourism is poised to achieve a significant milestone by surpassing 900,000 tourist arrivals, marking the highest influx in three years. During the initial 27 days of August, the country welcomed 123,285 visitors, elevating the year-to-date arrivals to 891,198.
Although there has been a slight decline in daily arrivals after a strong start in August, Sri Lanka remains an attractive destination, with India as the leading source market. Additionally, the UK, China, Germany, and Russia have emerged as top source markets for August. The Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) is unveiling its Global Promotional Roadmap, emphasizing its commitment to enhancing services and experiences to attract high-spending travellers, in line with the vision of sustainable growth in the tourism sector. Visitors have been enjoying stays at properties such as Cinnamon Red Colombo during their attempt to explore Colombo to its fullest extent, which is seen as a welcome growth following a few difficult years.
