Sri Lanka is reinforcing its reputation as a sought-after travel destination, even in the wake of challenges caused by Cyclone Ditwah. While parts of the hill country, including Kandy, Nuwara Eliya and Ella, faced temporary disruptions to roads and services, recovery efforts have moved quickly.
The Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority has confirmed that key areas are now accessible again, restoring confidence among travellers and industry partners. Importantly, tourist bookings for the winter season have remained steady, reflecting strong international trust. Over 269 foreign visitors affected by the cyclone were safely evacuated, and no tourist casualties were reported. The arrival of the luxury cruise ship Mein Schiff 06 at Colombo Port further signals renewed momentum. In Kandy, established stays such as Kandy Myst by Cinnamon continue to offer reliable comfort, reinforcing the appeal of 4 star hotels in Kandy Sri Lanka as tourism activity steadily returns to normal.
