In July this year, Sri Lanka updated its entry guidelines for tourists. One of the notable aspects was that travellers who had received a full COVID-19 vaccination were permitted to freely travel around the island without the need to quarantine; however, this would only be granted on the condition that they tested negative for COVID-19 following a day one PCR test after their arrival. Additionally, such fully vaccinated tourists also must submit to another PCR test at a Ministry of Health-approved laboratory on day seven of their holiday.
Such easing of restrictions will no doubt further enhance Sri Lanka’s appeal for tourists, especially those who are vaccinated. The island continues to attract travellers from around the world be it to enjoy wildlife safaris, discover cultural highlights or experience captivating things to do in Bandarawela. Additionally, accommodation providers including properties like Bandarawela Hotel have also implemented comprehensive hygiene and cleanliness protocols so guests, be they domestic or foreign, can look forward to safe getaways.
