Sri Lanka has welcomed over 1,250,000 foreign tourists this year, with a total of 1,271,432 arrivals recorded so far. The Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority reports that Indian tourists constitute the majority, with 237,649 visitors.
Significant numbers of tourists from Russia, Britain, Germany, China, and France have also contributed to this figure. In the first 11 days of this month alone, 73,373 tourists visited the island. Popular destinations, such as Amethyst Resort and other well-known hotels in Passikudah, continue to attract visitors, showcasing Sri Lanka’s diverse appeal to international travelers. Following a tumultous couple of years, the island nation is getting back to its feet, and tourism numbers continue to rise by the year. Officials hope to get back to pre-2019 levels in terms of influx, and at the current trajectory, it can be argued that its well on its way.
