In a list published by the New York Post at the end of last year titled, “The world’s top 19 hotels to visit in 2016”, Anantara Peace Haven Tangalle Resort took pride of place for being the only accommodation option to be mentioned not only in Sri Lanka but South Asia as well. This newest addition to Sri Lanka luxury resorts in the South Coast is located in Tangalle and can be found on a coconut plantation spanning 42-acres, set right beside the Indian Ocean. The first Anantara property in the country, the resort features 152 rooms as well as villas with pools, the signature Anantara Spa with its range of ayurvedic treatments and a variety of dining options offering local and international cuisine. The New York Post list featured both urban hotels and holiday getaways in other part of the world such as California, the Bahamas, Colombia, France, Japan and Israel.
