Sri Lanka’s New Tourism Campaign to Launch Next Month – More Arrivals on the Cards

The long-awaited mega global destination marketing campaign by Sri Lanka is scheduled to kick off next month. The campaign which has a budget of Rs. 1.4 billion, will be launched on 27th December 2023 and is expected to attract travellers from around the world thereby bolstering arrivals and the local tourism industry. It will focus on 14 nations that are also important tourism source markets for Sri Lanka; these include India, Russia, Germany, China, and the UK. Additionally, Sri Lankans residing in other countries will also be targeted and encouraged to come visit, thereby helping to boost the economy.

To further promote itself as the perfect holiday destination, Sri Lanka has been taking part in key tourism and travel trade fairs as well. Some of the notable events were the FTM Top Resa 2023 in Paris this October and the World Travel Market in London at the beginning of November. The island nation remains a favourite destination not just for holidaymakers but for business travellers as well as those looking to enjoy both aspects on a trip. Thus, at local beachside hotels, meeting rooms and event spaces can also be found including at the Kalutara property of Avani Hotels & Resorts, an ideal accommodation option for travellers.
