Surf Season in Sri Lanka begins: Get Ready To Ride The Waves!

Sri Lanka has emerged to be one of the famous destinations for surfing with fabulous surfing hotspots. Surfers from many countries arrive to surfing beaches such as Arugambay, Hikkaduwa and Marawila, a popular seaside town in the north west of the country. Due to the large number of tourists visiting the town, plenty of hotels and restaurants in Marawila such as those by Amagi Beach Marawila, can be found lined along the beach, offering the perfect base to reenergise after surfing to your heart’s content.

The best time to surf when in Sri Lanka is from April to October as the waters are perfect with average temperature of 27’C throughout year. Blessed with the ocean, Sri Lanka has literally thousands of miles of coastline which extends from north to south and east to west making it an ideal and safe place to perhaps even make one’s first attempt at surfing!
