Elekrateq, a prominent electric vehicle manufacturer in Sri Lanka, has joined forces with USAID through a social media influencer-driven campaign to promote sustainable tourism and e-mobility in the country. In collaboration with the USAID Indo-Pacific Opportunity Project and the Sri Lanka Tourism Alliance, 10 social media influencers explored the beauty of Sri Lanka, emphasizing sustainable practices. As part of their journey, the influencers, sponsored by the USAID Sri Lanka Energy Program, navigated the streets of Colombo on Elekrateq’s ETX three-wheelers, showcasing the environmental and economic benefits of electric vehicles.
This collaboration serves broader sustainability goals and tourism development in Sri Lanka, fostering awareness and encouraging the adoption of electric vehicles. The campaign, supported by influencers and various stakeholders, contributes to the nation’s efforts to create a more environmentally friendly transportation sector – which in turn will encourage more individuals from more countries to consider visiting after recognizing the potential within, potentially visiting and making use of various tourist hotspots like Kandy. This is where a luxury hotel in Kandy such as the Hunas Falls Hotel Kandy will be able to serve their needs.
