According to recent data, Thailand and Vietnam have emerged as top choices for Asian holiday destinations among Chinese tourists this summer. Both countries have seen a significant surge in Chinese arrivals, joining the list of traditional favourites such as South Korea, Japan and more.
Experts at Cirium, an aviation analytics firm, have reported that more and more Chinese nationals are seeking budget-friendly and accessible travel destinations. Coupled with the recent visa exemption schemes and travel campaigns, the countries have seen a surge in the percentage of visitor arrivals from China, as tourists seek diverse experiences in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, or exciting things to do in Hua Hin, Thailand.
The influx of tourists is expected to boost local economies and further strengthen the tourism sector in both countries. Already lined with prolific hotels and resorts, these destinations are well-equipped to handle the projected number of arrivals. For instance, Hua Hin, Thailand’s oldest coastal resort town, hosted approximately 4 million tourists last year, flocking to its numerous beachfront hotels, which include newer properties such as Anantara Hua Hin Resort.
