Thailand boosts tourism – Free SIM cards and digital privileges for visitors

The “Welcome Back to Thailand” campaign, a joint effort by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and Advanced Info Service (AIS), is poised to launch. This initiative aims to entice international tourists by providing them with Amazing Thailand SIM cards, complete with an array of digital perks and services.

As a strategic component of the campaign, TAT intends to distribute one million mobile phone SIM cards and exclusive e-voucher privileges, offered by partner organizations. The distribution is scheduled to commence on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, and extend until March 31, 2027, welcoming all foreign visitors arriving in Thailand.

This campaign is a calculated step by TAT to reinvigorate Thai tourism as the year-end approaches. Chattan Kunjara Na Ayudhya, TAT’s Deputy Governor for International Marketing in Asia and the South Pacific, emphasized the importance of the campaign in stimulating tourism. The SIM card distribution will be overseen by TAT’s Asia and South Pacific regional offices, in collaboration with various international travel agencies, airlines, and associations. Travellers, while exploring the scenic beauty of Thailand and staying at prominent Chiang Rai resorts such as the Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort, can enjoy the digital benefits of this campaign.
