Tourism with purpose – Thailand charts a future where travel meets sustainability.

Thailand is taking a significant stride towards sustainable tourism with the signing of a Letter of Intent between the Ministry of Tourism and Sports and over 20 leading Thai and international tourism stakeholders. Initiated by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), the initiative aims to make 2030 the year of sustainable tourism development, balancing economic growth with environmental protection, social equity, and responsible governance.

The consortium includes government agencies like TAT and DOT, alongside private enterprises such as the Thai Hotels Association, working to reduce emissions, safeguard biodiversity, and promote efficient resource use. Participating destinations and hospitality providers, including Chatrium Golf Resort Soi Dao Chanthaburi, may benefit from this collaboration, raising standards across Thailand’s tourism sector.

By integrating sustainability into business practices, the country aims to become a global leader in responsible tourism, with Chanthaburi resorts and other properties set to exemplify this new vision.
