Proactive travel support keeps Thailand welcoming and accessible during global flight changes
Thailand has announced temporary immigration relief to assist international visitors affected by flight disruptions linked to Middle East airspace closures. The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), in coordination with immigration officials and aviation authorities, is providing short-term visa extensions and possible overstay waivers to help travellers manage unexpected delays.
Tourists currently staying in destinations such as Bangkok, Phuket, Chiang Mai, Krabi, and Pattaya can request temporary extensions at local immigration offices if their departures are delayed. Authorities have also indicated that penalties may be waived when travellers can show their flight changes are linked to the ongoing airspace situation.
Tourism services across the country continue operating as normal, with hotels and travel operators assisting guests with updated travel arrangements. Across the region, travellers planning future getaways—from relaxing island stays to experiences such as dining in Maldives at resorts like OBLU SELECT Sangeli Maldives—are closely following developments as aviation routes gradually stabilise.
