In May 2022, Thailand lifted several COVID-19 restrictions for travellers, including pre-arrival and on-arrival testing. With the new regulations coming into place, they will no longer be required to prepare a quarantine plan if they are fully vaccinated. However, the restriction stating that non-vaccinated or partially vaccinated travellers to be quarantined for 5 days on the island is still in place. A negative PCR test can be shown on arrival to avoid the quarantine plan.
Lifting COVID-19 restrictions has positively affected tourism in Thailand, and the country is experiencing more travellers each day. Anantara Lawana Koh Samui resort, which is known to be one of the best Koh Samui resort hotels in Thailand is being reserved by many visitors since May, and the demand is likely to increase in the coming months.
