Here’s some wonderful news for international travellers who wish to travel to Thailand in 2022! According to the latest reports, fully vaccinated tourists can enter the country under the “test and go” scheme from February 1 after it was suspended due to the fast-spreading Omicron variant. The policy requires them to take COVID tests on the first and fifth days after arriving in the country. The visitors will also have to isolate themselves in a hotel until they receive their test results and download a tracking app to make sure that they comply with the rules. If you are a traveller who wishes to stay at a Phuket resort, SHA Extra Plus (SHA++) certified hotel like Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas — which meet a high level of safety and health standards — will also ensure your well-being during your stay. The decision to resume the quarantine waiver is aimed to revive the hard-hit tourism industry in Thailand.
