Thai officials and tourism operators have stated that the business is as usual in the second quarter and is also predicted to hold steady going into the third. This information is as per the latest quarterly Thailand Tourism Confidence Index. The index also forecasts that Thailand is to expect 8.7 million international tourists in the third quarter, more than 7 per cent in comparison to last year.
However, tourism operators and tourists have agreed that Bangkok and Chiang Mai are facing over-tourism issues while Phuket can still welcome tourists. Therefore, luxury hotels in Phuket the likes of Anantara Layan Phuket Resort can surely expect more visitors.
