Having recorded over 7.5 million foreign visitors from the months of January to April, the tourism industry reports a tourist expenditure of up to 224 billion Baht – $6.5 billion in terms of the US Dollar. Owing its thanks to the many resplendent tourist destinations, local attractions, and properties such as the Anantara Rasananda Koh Phangan Villas, the government is said to expect more than 500,000 foreign tourists in the week of May 7th alone.
Earlier in the year, a particular foreign tourist group spoke about the potential 5 million visitors that could be achieved, following a resumption of the local quarantine waiver. The very same group urged a relaxation of travel curbs to help tourism, providing traffic to offerings like the Koh Phangan resort that many travellers seek.
