Taking effect from 1st March 2022, Thailand has updated the entry requirements for its Test & Go programme that offers quarantine free holidays to fully vaccinated travellers at destinations like Bangkok. Those who have received the full dose of a COVID-19 vaccine must submit to an RT-PCR test on day one and stay one night at an SHA Plus+ certified accommodation provider as they wait for the result; this includes the likes of Somerset Rama 9 Bangkok which offer special Day 1 Test & Go packages with the required testing and options for long term rental; Bangkok sightseeing, shopping, nightlife or business dealings can be enjoyed once a negative test result is received.
As part of the new guidelines, travellers will no longer have to submit to a day five RT-PCR test; they will, however, need to do a self-test using an antigen test kit on day five and upload their result via the MorChana smartphone app or another specified app. In a further update to the Test & Go programme, the required health insurance coverage that tourists need to have has been reduced from US$ 50,000 to US$ 20,000.
