Highlighting its revival, the tourism industry in Thailand reached a significant milestone at the end of 2022 as it achieved its target of 10 million visitors for the year. This momentous occasion was marked on 10th December 2022 with the “Amazing Thailand 10 Million Celebrations” held at seven prominent regional and international airports as well as two key border checkpoints.
Organised by the Tourism Authority of Thailand, these events also featured special cultural shows, while tourists were presented with souvenirs that were representative of the Thai destination they were arriving at. The outlook is even more promising for 2023 as the country has set a target of achieving 20 million arrivals which are expected to generate approximately 1.5 trillion Thai baht. Amongst the popular places for visitors are island getaways like Koh Lanta; resorts here located beside a private beach such as Avani+ Koh Lanta Krabi Resort provide ideal accommodation for families and couples planning a trip to Thailand this year.
