The Maldives Popular for Luxury Getaways – Continues to Be a COVID-Safe Haven

In an article published online on 22nd February 2021, Architectural Digest highlighted that the Maldives is not only well-known for offering luxury holidays but has also become a popular destination for post-COVID-19 getaways. In the Maldives, 5 star resorts are each located on private islands which means that they are well-suited for isolating and social distancing too. Additionally, properties such as OZEN RESERVE BOLIFUSHI follow strict health and hygiene guidelines ensuring a safe stay for travellers.

Architectural Digest billed the Maldives as being one of the biggest success stories in terms of getting the tourism industry back on track after reopening its borders last July. While visitor numbers were understandably lower compared to 2019 given the situation, some resorts even saw a rise in occupancy rates and revenue. With tourist arrivals continuing to increase this year, the country has reason to be optimistic.
