According to the statistics of the World Bank, The Maldives has topped the list of countries around the world that are most reliant on the Tourism Industry, beating the countries as British Virgin Islands, Macao, Aruba and Seychelles which are also considered as tourism hubs. In 2018, almost 1.5 million people have visited the Maldives and the percentage of contribution by tourism to its GDP has reportedly been 38.92%.
