The number of travellers visiting destinations has begun to rise and it is said that the U.S. outbound market has the ability to aid recovery in the flailing tourism sector in Africa. According to ForwardKeys, the volume of flight searches has increased by two per cent from January to February this year. And the overall volume of flight searches to the same continent (for the same period) has gone up by 30 per cent.
However, this interest to visit the African countries and holiday at many a Zanzibar resort the likes of The Residence Zanzibar or other holiday properties located in any other African country needs to be transformed into bookings in order to constitute a recovery. And the international arrivals into Africa confirm that the interest to visit has indeed been converting into arriving tourists. The arrivals to Africa are at -33% compared to the levels during 2019 in the second quarter of this year.
