Tourism Malaysia made a triumphant return to India’s Outbound Travel Mart (OTM) 2024 in Mumbai, after a three-year hiatus, aiming to rekindle India’s love affair with Malaysian tourism.
The event, held from February 8th to 10th, 2024, showcased Malaysia’s diverse attractions, emphasising shopping, golfing, luxury experiences, theme parks, and honeymoon packages, offered by luxury resorts in Malaysia, such as the well-known Anantara Desaru Coast Resort & Villas.
The focus extended to emerging niches like weddings and film-induced tourism, appealing to Indian travellers seeking unique experiences. With over 35,000 trade visitors expected, OTM 2024 promised to strengthen ties between tour operators and the tourism industry.
As India remains a key market for Malaysia, initiatives like the visa-free policy until December 31, 2024, further incentivised Indian travellers to explore Malaysia’s rich cultural heritage and scenic landscapes.
