The Maldives has already welcomed over 743,000 tourists in 2025, as revealed by the Ministry of Tourism in its latest report. Between January 1 and April 16, tourist arrivals increased by 6.3 per cent compared to the same period in 2024. Notably, 110,810 arrivals were recorded in the first half of April alone, marking a 16.8 per cent rise from last year.
Resort stays accounted for the majority of visits, with over 530,000 tourists choosing luxury island accommodations. China continues to lead as the top tourist source market, followed closely by Russia and the United Kingdom. Monthly arrivals remained strong, with February recording the highest average daily influx of 7,646 tourists.
