Following the reopening of the country’s borders in April this year, Myanmar has been taking steps to facilitate the return of international travellers with the resumption of issuing e-Visas for tourists. Applications for such visas were available from 15th May 2022 which was the first time this has taken place since 20th March 2020. Before this, Myanmar had also begun to issue business visas from 1st April this year and had lifted the ban on international commercial flights from 17th April 2022.
Offering more convenience to tourists, e-Visas (https://www.myanmaronlinevisa.com/visa-application/) are available for applicants from over 100 nations and can be fully completed online without the need to visit a consulate or embassy. When it comes to accommodation, travellers can choose to stay at properties like PARKROYAL Yangon that have adopted strict health and sanitation protocols; from such well-placed 5-star hotels in Yangon, the city’s key attractions including the Shwedagon Pagoda can be visited once more.
