Last year, the Sultanate of Oman has seen a significant increase in both inbound and outbound tourist traffic, signalling a recovery in the country’s tourism industry. By the end of November 2022, the number of tourist arrivals in the country reached 2.5 million. Those leaving the country totalled 4.7 million according to figures released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information.
As per the statistics, Oman has seen a higher influx of travellers from GCC countries from the beginning of the year to November. Hotels like Al Baleed Resort Salalah by Anantara also saw bookings by visitors from Yemen, Pakistan, India, and Germany. Compared to the figures from 2021, this proves to be a major increase in the number of travellers. Many a Salalah beach resort look forward to higher occupation and a further increase in the number of tourist arrivals in the country in the year 2023.
