Tourists Continue to Arrive in the Maldives

Following the opening of its international borders in mid-July this year, the Maldives has seen foreign tourists once more arrive for holidays. This is in sharp contrast to when the borders were closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. At the same time, during this period resorts have also begun to open in stages; according to the Maldives Marketing and PR Corporation (MMPRC), most of them will be in operation by October’s end, while others will also continue to follow systematic reopening thereafter.

The country has put in place strict protocols to safeguard health and hygiene; though tourists do not have to undergo a mandatory quarantine process on arrival, they have to follow specific guidelines, while they need to remain at the property they made the booking at. Additionally, all-inclusive Maldives resort options on offer the likes of Kandolhu Maldives will also be following strict protocols to ensure the safety of guests and staff alike.
