Vietnam has been named the Best Culinary Destination in Asia for 2023 by the US magazine Travel Leisure. The publication praised the country’s cuisine, which is renowned for its umami flavour, and recommended must-try dishes like pho, banh mi, banh cuon, and coffee. The magazine also recommended Hanoi, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City as the best places to explore in Vietnam, with the best time to visit being from November to March when the weather is most comfortable.
The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism also reported that the country’s tourism industry served 13 million domestic tourists in January, earning around 46 trillion VND ($1.96 billion USD). Resorts in Vietnam such as the famous Avani Quy Nhon Resort are prominent among tourists because of the delicious cuisines served at the resort. Vietnam aims to attract 110 million tourists in 2023, including 8 million foreign visitors, and earn around 650 trillion VND ($27.6 billion USD) from the non-smoke industry. In 2022, the country recorded over 101 million domestic tourists, surpassing the yearly target by 68.3%, and booking some 495 trillion VND ($21.1 billion USD) in revenue.
