Popular fashion and lifestyle magazine Harper’s Bazaar recently featured Water Garden Sigiriya as part of its publication of four of the finest boutique hotels in Sri Lanka. Captioned under “Best for… panoramic views”, this relatively new property is set amidst tranquil greenery and the backdrop of a lake while enjoying enviable views of the iconic Sigiriya rock fortress. Located in the heart of the island’s Cultural Triangle, Water Garden Sigiriya features unique water gardens that mirror the concept that can be found at Sigiriya which once had such distinctive layouts when it was being used as a royal palace. While the property offers 30 luxury villas to choose from, the magazine recommended the Superior Deluxe Villa that comes with a private plunge pool as swell. Other notable highlights mentioned included the hotel’s infinity pool, poolside two-floor bar and restaurant where guests can sample authentic Sri Lankan cuisine.
