Sri Lanka Tourism has strategically recognized the importance of establishing the wellness tourism sector of the country. According to the officials, 78% of travelers seek to enjoy some element of wellness in their travels, be it solo travel, business, or family travel. The purpose is to inspire travellers to be physically, mentally, and emotionally relieved right after their tour to Sri Lanka.
Yoga sessions at hotels, spa treatments, and other experiences such as forest explorations, tea plucking sessions, and swimming with turtles are all included as elements in the wellness travel concept. Not just the hotels and resorts in Sri Lanka, but also tour companies such as Walkers Tours offer wellness packages to travellers. This will, in the future, encourage many travellers from all over the world to tour Sri Lanka with their families and friends.
