The annual Yangon Photo Festival successfully concluded another year, with a prestigious display of photo-story screenings. Now in its ninth year, the photo festival was held at Maha bandula Park, a central park located near several well-known establishments like the Chatrium Hotel Royal Lake Yangon, for example, a colonial styled heritage hotel in Yangon. The photo festival featured a wide selection of exhibitions and photo essays which included mesmerising depictions of Myanmar, from photographer James Henry Green’s cultural photos taken in the 1920s. The outdoor location also allowed for relaxed open-air screening of compelling photos by talented Myanmar photographers, as well as famed International photographers like Steve McCurry. In addition, the annual world press photo exhibition was also held alongside the photo festival and gave festival goers the opportunity to view the prestigious and compelling photojournalism from around the world.
