Hundreds and thousands of floating lanterns in an exhilarating range of designs lit up the cobalt blue skies of the Mackenzie Reserve in Yarra Glen on the eve of Yarra Glen Winter Lights Festival. Organized by the Yarra Ranges Council, this festival of lights was held on 20th August, 2016 and was an occasion for both locals and tourists to dress up as magical creatures and enjoy the line of busking, musical performances, food trucks and endless rounds of coffee. While the organizers provided LED lights to all, visitors were encouraged to bring their own lanterns to the festival parade. Oaks South Yarra is one of the many South Yarra hotels that one can look to stay at next year to catch all the festivities when the Yarra Glen Winter Lights Festival is held again.
