A multicultural event, the Sunshine Lantern Festival was held on 15th September in the Melbourne suburb of Sunshine and featured a range of activities and entertainment for the whole family. This free community event took place on Hampshire Road which is within easy reach of Avani Central Melbourne Residences and other well-placed properties in Melbourne City. Attractions at this year’s Sunshine Lantern Festival included the Sunshine Lantern Parade, the Legend of the Moon dance performance and a fireworks display.
Held in South-East Asian countries including Vietnam, the Lantern Festival is also celebrated in Sunshine and is seen as an event that brings communities together and supports local businesses. Popular amongst families, it featured street performers, market stalls, lantern making, face-painting, street food and even interactive experiences with native Australian animals for kids.
