2022 Hospitality Industry Forecast – The Resurgence of Travel

With the pandemic wreaking havoc all over the world, unpredictability was the theme of last year. The borders of many countries were closed and as a result, travel significantly declined, which adversely affected the hospitality industry. But things are returning to normal now and there’s a semblance of the post-pandemic era.

As mentioned on the Hospitality Net website in October 2021, it’s predicted that within this year, business and leisure travel will assume their post-pandemic status; however, the rebound process will inevitably have ups and downs, keeping hospitality industry employees on their toes. It was also highlighted that rising vaccination rates, vaccination plans for children and vaccine boosters will all help to encourage more travel. As things stand, 2022 will be a good year for the travel industry and all parties concerned including hospitality management degree holders; it’s also the ideal time for those looking to join the industry with the likes of the Asian Institute of Hospitality Management continuing to offer an international-level curriculum along with real-world work experience.
