The second international Ornamental Fish Trade Conference went underway from the 8th to the 10th of February 2017. The two day event also included a one day field trip to show visitors the ornamental fish farms in Sri Lanka. Those who participated in the conference had a chance to discuss the key issues that face the global industry of ornamental fish, while also looking at ways to increase production of these fish. Methods of breeding exotic species, health management and bio security measures were also discussed. The conference also highlighted the changes in the international markets and trade patterns and the latest developments of the packaging and transportation of the fish. Visitors who wish to attend the conference would find that there are quite a number of budget hotels in Sri Lanka to stay at that will also give them a good experience of island life such as Hotel J Negombo.
