40 More Beaches in Seychelles Being Considered for White Flag Certification, a Symbol of Clean Seas

Encouraging Cleaner Beaches

Last year, the very first beach in Seychelles to have received the white flag was Beau Vallon beach which quite popular among tourists. The white flag is the symbol of a clean beach. One that has been physically cleared of all plastic, polythene and other pollutants. Kristijan Curavic, the President of the Ocean Alliance Conservation Member, upon a discussion with President Danny Faure announced that Seychelles hopes to obtain the White Flag certification for 40-80 beaches.

This means that citizens and even tourists accommodated at many a beachside resort in Seychelles, the likes of Avani Barbarons Seychelles Resort will have to help keep the cleanliness of beaches by not littering. Curavic further stated that the certification of Beau Vallon beach was just the beginning of the project and that much improvements are in store to take place.
