5th Grand Canal Cultural Tourism Expo Comes to Suzhou from 21st – 24th September – Events to enjoy

The 5th Grand Canal Culture and Tourism Expo announced its series of activities during a press conference held on September 4 in Nanjing. The expo is scheduled to take place from September 21 to 24 in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province.

This year’s event will encompass six themes and 17 exhibitions, featuring activities such as the Night Walk on Baodai Bridge, Opening Ceremony, Night Tour on Jinji Lake, exhibitions, Theme Forum, and Interactive experiences. On the evening of September 21st, participants will have the opportunity to enjoy the picturesque night view along the Baodai Bridge, a world cultural heritage site along the Grand Canal, immersing themselves in the canal’s rich cultural heritage that spans millennia. Following the night walk on the Baodai Bridge, the Fifth Canal Expo’s opening ceremony will commence, featuring theme performances titled “Millennium-old Canal – Opera Collection.” These performances will showcase 11 opera genres from eight provinces and cities along the Canal, featuring 15 recipients of the China Theater Plum Blossom Award, offering a splendid display of the Canal’s ancient culture through Chinese opera.
