EDEX Expo 2024: Sri Lanka’s Largest Education and Career Fair

Sri Lanka’s premier education fair, EDEX Expo 2024, returned for its 20th edition, aiming to empower Sri Lankan youth. Held February 9-11 at the Colombo Exhibition and Convention Center and February 17-18 at the Kandy City Center, the event connected students with local and international universities, training providers, and potential employers.

EDEX Expo goes beyond a typical fair, serving as a “catalyst for change.”  This year’s theme focused on climate action, featuring Sri Lanka’s first-ever climate clock to raise awareness.  Students participating in engineering courses in Sri Lanka at institutions such as CINEC Campus Sri Lanka were given avenues to explore a wide range of educational opportunities and scholarships, while the Job Fair connected graduates with potential employers. For aspiring entrepreneurs, “The Entrepreneurs Arena” offered guidance and support for transforming business ideas into reality. This year’s expo boasted over 130 education providers in Colombo and 60 in Kandy, with universities from around the world participating.  The event opened with Japanese Ambassador Mizukoshi Hideaki as the Chief Guest and incorporated new technology for a seamless experience.  EDEX Expo 2024 promises a valuable platform for Sri Lankan youth to navigate their educational and career paths.
