Bangkok Launches ‘Sukhumvit Model’ to Elevate Safety and Urban Living
A blueprint for a safer, more vibrant Bangkok along its iconic Sukhumvit corridor
The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has unveiled the “Sukhumvit Model”, a new initiative aimed at enhancing safety, public order, and the overall urban experience along the bustling Sukhumvit Road.
Governor Chadchart Sittipunt inspected key sections from Sukhumvit Soi 39 to Soi 3 in Watthana, including the Asoke Intersection and Sois 4–24 in Klong Toey, highlighting the city’s focus on tackling recurring issues such as unauthorised street vending, illegal drug activity, noise pollution, inadequate lighting, and broken pavements.
Deputy Interior Minister Theerarat Samrejvanich emphasised that the plan aligns with national directives to protect residents and restore tourist confidence. Collaboration with agencies like the Department of Land Transport, NBTC, and MEA ensures a comprehensive approach.

The project also encourages innovative urban living solutions, with shared living spaces gaining attention. Properties like lyf Sukhumvit 8 Bangkok exemplify modern and cosy shared living in Bangkok, blending convenience and community within the city’s renewed safety framework.
