Vaisakhi Celebration – Marking the dawn of Punjabi New Year

Well known as a harvest festival that has prevailed from time immemorial, this year the Vaisakhi Celebration will be held on 14th April 2019 at Fort Cornwallis, Pulau Pinang, Malaysia which is accessible from many hotels such as Dorsett Putrajaya which also offers some of the attractive Putrajaya hotel deals. For Sikhs, this is a religious and historical festival to pay homage to their religion, Sikhism. The hoisting of the new Nishan Sahibn in every gurdwara is an important highlight of this festival. In addition, most of the Sikh men will be dressed in turbans and their traditional kurtas while women will be dressed in their salwar-kameez. This year, the celebration is organized in collaboration with Sikh Naujawan Sabha Penang and Wadda Gurdwara Sahib Penang.
