A Hong Kong, China travel bubble – What does it mean?

International travel has been severely hampered as the COVID-19 pandemic proceeds to flare and many countries shut their borders to prevent its spread. However, now that the pandemic has been going strong for more than 2 years, countries like Singapore have started to re-open their borders for visitors without quarantine.

More countries like China and Hong Kong have negotiated to open borders to each other to further hold out the pandemic from affecting their citizens. They have re-established ties between themselves in a travel bubble by opening borders and enabling individuals to move freely inside the zone without having to undergo on-arrival quarantine. This alliance is predicated on achieving significant success in limiting and fighting COVID-19 within their own boundaries. Travellers from the Mainland can once again feel at home in Hong Kong; visit family, go shopping and have a nice dinner in a fancy restaurant in Wan Chai, or go for a relaxing staycation to forget the morbidity of the pandemic at a comfortable and safe hotel such as the Cosmo Hotel Hong Kong.
